Co-located and connected activities

As well as collecting data for ECN purposes at our sites, we also contribute to a wide range of environmental observing and research initiatives. This co-location of data collection is an important aspect of environmental observation at ECN sites.

The contributions that each terrestrial ECN site makes to other UK and international observation and research initiatives are listed below. These contributions are made through a mix of standard ECN monitoring and additional monitoring or research located close to where ECN measurements are made. Much of the monitoring made in addition to ECN standard observations is carried out by ECN Site Managers. Note that co-located activities, whilst sited within the boundaries of each site, may take place at some distance from where ECN monitoring is conducted.
